►Activation of institutional email address for PhD students:codicefiscale@studenti.unime.it
All Unime accounts of the @studenti.unime.it type have two email addresses available:nome.cognome@studenti.unime.it andcodicefiscale@studenti.unime.it. Access to Outlook email (and Microsoft Teams) is possible exclusively with codicefiscale@studenti.unime.it.
To access Unime institutional email and all Microsoft services (Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Microsoft 365 A3 web free, Windows 10 Enterprise, Minecraft Edu, etc.) made available by Unime, you must choose a password.
Each Unime student has been configured to log in, but their credentials have been reset for security reasons. You need to go to https://www.office.com/, click "login" and when prompted for credentials, enter your student email address [codicefiscale@studenti.unime.it]. The system requires a password. You must reset it by clicking recover password. Next, there will be a step to verify your email. An email with a verification code will be sent to the personal email address entered on Esse3 (the private email address entered on your Esse3 profile when you registered). You will need to check your personal email inbox to read the code you need to enter on the verification page.
After changing your password, you can log in to office.com with your new credentials.
For added security, you will be asked to enter additional information to validate your newly activated account.
The Office.com website requires further verification, so you will need to use a personal email address in addition to your institutional email address or a mobile phone number to receive a text message.
At this point, another code will be sent to your personal email address. You will need to open your email inbox and copy the code as before, but this time using your email provider's server.
At the end of the procedure, click FINISH.
With If you use the codicefiscale@studenti.unime.it address and the chosen Esse3 password, you can access the Dashboard area from LOGIN (at the top center of the Unime homepage https://www.unime.it), which contains the collection of services made available to doctoral students (N.B.: for Microsoft services, you must log in with the @studenti.unime.it account and the password set according to the procedure above; for non-Microsoft services, @studenti.unime.it and the Esse3 password).
N.B.: For any problem related to the UniME institutional email account, you can send a support request postaelettronica@unime.it, indicating your tax code and Esse3 registration number.
N.B.: To access the Esse3 platform, you use SPID (Programmable Identity Card) without a password. To access CRUSCOTTO, you must have your Esse3 credentials, which include a password.
- Go to the Esse3 Web home page and click on Forgotten Password;
- Next, enter your tax code and a temporary password will be sent to the personal email address you provided during enrollment.
- The password must be changed by logging into Esse3, following the instructions provided.
Please note that from CRUSCOTTO, by clicking on the "Pay slips, CUD, Certificates" tab, you can download your monthly scholarship pay slips and the Certificazioni Uniche (CU). annual.
► Access to the UNime VPN service
The Unime VPN (Virtual Private Network) service is now active, allowing authorized users to access all services normally available only from computers directly connected to the University network, even from home or when traveling for work. Users can consult bibliographic and documentary resources, IRIS Research, and a series of dedicated services (note: after activating the VPN, the services available only via the University network will appear in your Dashboard area). Please note that access to the VPN service is permitted to all @studenti.unime.it accounts without any restrictions or prior authorization. Once the VPN is installed, access will be possible with the username codicefiscale@studenti.unime.it and the password used to access the Esse3 platform.

► Access to the University wireless network
The "UNIME-WIFI" University wireless network allows all University staff, students, doctoral students, postgraduate students, and researchers to use network resources that were previously only accessible via wired networks.
The connection Wi-Fi can be used with any computer equipped with a wireless card. It is also possible to use almost all recently manufactured smartphones. The University's wireless network offers connectivity in all university locations equipped with access points, allowing users to move from one location to another without any need for configuration changes. Accessing the service requires no paperwork: the accounts are already active. Students will be authenticated using the credentials they already use to access the Esse3 online administration system. Access will be via the username codicefiscale@studenti.unime.it and the password used to access the Esse3 platform.

All UniMe doctoral students are authorized to access the IRIS Ricerca system.
IRIS Ricerca is the IT solution that facilitates the collection and management of data relating to research activities and products. It provides researchers, administrators, and evaluators with tools to monitor research results, increase their visibility, and effectively allocate available resources.
Access to IRIS Research is permitted by clicking the link below using the same login credentials as your UniMe institutional email address.

To join the ATM/UniMe Agreement, you must follow the activation procedure on UniMe Esse3. The PagoPA payment slip (€30) will be invoiced automatically and available in the "Payments" section after signing up.
