Career and professional opportunities

The course activities will develop students' ability to address and solve highly complex conceptual and technological problems using rigorous, multidisciplinary methodologies. Particular emphasis will be placed on IT tools and project writing in English.
Furthermore, students will be motivated to develop innovative projects, both independently and within work groups, with the aim of evaluating the impact of new technological solutions, new methods applied to the development of materials, new devices, and algorithms in biomedical engineering.
The collaborative network between the College's faculty and companies and research centers will provide, even during the doctoral program, the opportunity to address research activities and specific issues in the manufacturing and service sectors of the medical-biological sector, which constitutes the employment base for this profile.

The skills acquired during the program are geared toward the following career and professional opportunities:

  • Research positions in academia at the national and international level;
  • Research positions in private or public research institutions (CNR, INFN, ENEA, INGV, etc.);
  • Innovation and technology transfer projects, currently particularly encouraged at the regional (PON, POR, etc.) and national levels (specific funds for start-ups);
  • Positions of responsibility in R&D departments of companies in the sectors covered by the Doctorate.
